The objective of this scheme is to encourage Young Scientists and equip them with knowledge of latest techniques and developments in their fields of research. Selected scientists can undergo training/learn sophisticated instrumentation techniques or modern research methodologies or do collaborative research work with senior scientists in any of the high level research centres/ universities in India.

This scheme helps them to update their knowledge and disseminate the same to their students. The Students are thus provided high quality education.

Under this scheme, scientists and researchers below 35 years of age working in educational Institutions are provided with a fellowship of Rs.3000/- every month for a period of 2 to 6 months in addition to their regular salaries provided by their parent institutions.

About 15 scientists are supported under this scheme every year.
